I am trying to write out a class description for my daughter's portfolio and I need a little help. She is very interested in manga drawing so I was thinking that next year her art class could be on manga drawing. Can anyone help me please? Do you think this is an appropriate class for art in 9th grade? I will be so glad when I have her whole 9th grade planned out and written down.

I think if you add some general drawing lessons in, it would make a great course.

Here are some drawing lessons (http://www.mmwindowtoart.com/artdrawing.html) I found on-line. She could take the techniques she learns and apply them to her manga drawings.

Course description could look something like this:

This Manga course expands drawing skills including but not limited to focus on facial expressions, human figures, and hair, eye, ear and hand details. Design techniques to include character development and creative costumes. Also covers scriptwriting, visual storytelling, and presentation.

There are a lot of tutorials here (http://www.howtodrawmanga.com/pages/tutorials).

If you use the tutorials (or their home study course) you could add something like "This Manga course, taught by award winning artists, ..."
