My dd is going into 9th grade and we want to do the Phys. Science. I am confused. What do I need to teach this? Where is the best place to order?
Seems to me CBD is cheaper than the Apologia site. But - there are 2 books and one says student ($46) the other doesn't say it is a teacher Guide, but is it? It is $57 and I thought I would get the student notebook......anyone here with experience with this?

I would suggest the book and the solution manuals with the tests:
http://shop.apologia.com/physical-science/166-physical-science-2nd-edition-textbook-only.html
http://shop.apologia.com/physical-science/167-physical-science-2nd-edition-solutions-and-test-manual.html

If your student is an auditory learner, having the audio CD may have some value. My oldest is an auditory learner and the CD was a fabulous help for him.

Plus, you'll need lab equipment. I know several companies offer Apologia kits. We had a co-op class so his teacher handled it all.

Belle is doing physical science in 9th grade this year as well. I have the text, the test/solution manuals, and the notebook (http://shop.apologia.com/physical-science/349-physical-science-student-notebook.html) . I have found for us it is worth the expense; it just makes things so much easier.

We were going to get our General science stuff {Book, test book, cd-rom, & audio} from CBD, but in the end I found someone selling it used for an amazing deal & we picked up the audio from Audible. For us we need the audio due to our son's vision issues, but if it weren't for that I would have gone with the books & cd-rom, oh, & notebook like Robin said.

I got our notebook from CBD though. ;)

There is no specific teacher guide, except for the solutions manual. The text is written directly to the student.
We don't have the student notebook since we have the 1st edition, but I can see how it would be very beneficial.

How do kids do the labs with the audio book? I think it would be hard to listen to the lab and pull together what you need. Andie would probably do better with the audio for everything else. She has to have the hard copy for co-op and the labs.

We used both.
