We are rowing Ferdinand next week. I have all of my "lesson" plans mapped out, but I'm looking for some extra FUN stuff to do as well. My dd is 5. Any ideas?

We cooked Spanish rice and made churros (yum)!:D We also learned about the Flamenco dancers and listened to Spanish music. This was one of our favorites! Enjoy!

My boys pretended to be bullfighters- one was the bull, the other the matador. They thought it was fun. oooh! I can't wait to do this one again with my middle ds! He'll love it! :D

I'm sure these have been mentioned before...but here's what we did:

*made little boats out of cork and tried "sailing" them in the sink
*got flowers for the kids to smell everytime that Ferdinand did it in the story (they LOVED this!)
*acted out the bee sting scene
*made Spanish food to eat

We saw a local production at a local children's theatre. You can stage your own production with sock puppets. :thumb:

The art lesson in the manual is very fun. We drew a "V" with pencil and collaged flowers inside the V to imitate the art in the book.
