so not to hijack Paige's thread ;). I'm going to purchase the FIAR timeline for our 1st grade year and was wondering if any of you ladies had pictures of how you did yours that you would want to share?

This (http://blogshewrote.blogspot.com/2007/09/blog-post.html) is Heather's Timeline post on her blog.

Thanks Molly, I don't know how I missed that on Heather's blog, I'm only reading it every other day :D

Sasha, in case Heather's didn't give you enough info, I can tell you what I'm "planning" :D I'm going to use a thick 3-ring binder. I'm going to use 8x11 cardstock to separate the years, and I'll put a sticky "tab" on the cardstock to label the years (the type I used with my FIAR planner -- you can find that on the Family Room boards). I'm going to do BC years clumped together somewhat loosely (0-1000BC, 1000-500 BC, 500-0) -- I, especially, want the kids to be able to put Bible characters in there/historic Biblical events in there in the right "order" as we study them. For AD, I probably group by 500s until we get to 1500, then will do 1500, 1600, 1700, 1800, 1850, 1900, then will count by 10s from there.

I saw Angela Paige's a few years back, and one of the neat things she did was to include grandparents and parents in the timeline, so the kids knew where they "fit" in history :)

Thanks Paige, this sounds like it'll turn out wonderful. I really want to start one but I've been pretty clueless as to how to go about it. If I don't see something already out together I have a hard time making my own up so I love to hear from those of you that don't have my issue

Sasha, I finished putting my girls' together yesterday. When I get a chance, I'll take pics and will post a new thread with the pics. Obviously, they won't have anything written in them yet (unless I have them do one page), but you'll be able to see how my binders look and how I separated the years. I think they turned out great :thumb: JMO, though ;)
