View Full Version : Resources for character study??

Just wondering what if any resources you use for different character traits for your children?

Our devotion this morning just happened to be on Galatians 5, The Fruits of the Spirit. One that we REALLY need to be focusing on right now.

I decided I wanted to do more than just the devotion so I found a few things to do with the kids to focus more on it.

This is the kind of thing I am looking to do....not just a devotion and move on but really stop and spend some time on those verses, character traits etc...

Have you looked at Doorposts? http://www.doorposts.com/
I love everything we've bought from them. We just started Plants Grown Up and Polished Cornerstones, and I'm really excited about it.

We have Character Building For Families Vol. 1. You spend about 2 weeks on each character trait, reading different scriptures, discussing, etc. I have to admit it is probably more geared toward older elem. or middle kids but could be modified and activities added for younger children. You can also pare down the number of days and simply pick and choose the scriptures and discussions to fit your family.

I second "Character Building for Families." I have used it with my kids.

We like Beautiful Feets Guide- it is not a curriculum like some of their other guides. We used it over last summer '08. There are a few questions to go with each book, but it is mostly a book list.
