I posted these read-alouds on a Holiday Board thread:

My two favorite Thanksgiving read-alouds are:

An Old-Fashioned Thanksgiving by Louisa May Alcott (not about the Pilgrims but a wonderful story)

Squanto and the Miracle of Thanksgiving because it so clearly shows God's hand in the whole thing from the beginning and ties in so well with the Joseph story in the Bible -- "what man intended for evil, God intended for good." Not a chapter book, but a long picture book.

My toddler really likes We're Going on a Leaf Hunt, which is like the Bear Hunt book, only looking for leaves. I also love Helen Cooper's Pumpkin Soup for a picture book.

Thanks Rebe! I haven't heard of any of those!

The Ugly Pumpkin is a fun favorite, it's technically a Thanksgiving book but we always get it before we go to the pumpkin patch. Pumpkin Hill is another one that I can pull off the top of my head.

In addition to those mentioned here and the other threads, I used Thank You, Sarah (http://www.amazon.com/Thank-You-Sarah-Woman-Thanksgiving/dp/0689847874) and Molly's Pilgrim (http://www.amazon.com/Mollys-Pilgrim-Barbara-Cohen/dp/0688162797/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1257473894&sr=1-1) when I was teaching.

Just discovered In November (http://www.amazon.com/November-Cynthia-Rylant/dp/0152063420/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1257473854&sr=1-1) at B&N this week too.
