For you? Or your students? I read The Worst Hard Time (http://www.amazon.com/Worst-Hard-Time-Survived-American/dp/0618773479/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1302393595&sr=8-1) this past summer and really liked it.

For what age? My girls are into American Girl stuff and the Kit movie and cookbook are great!

There is a Dear America book on this subject that is pretty good.
Survival in the Storm: The Dust Bowl Diary of Grace Edwards, Dalhart, Texas 1935

Out of the Dust is a Newberry winner, but a young adult book so you might want to preview it if you are reading it to dc.

I read No Promise in the Wind aloud to my boys last year. I thought it was a good picture of children displaced. There is a little language and a death so it may not be right for you depending on the ages for which you're wanting it.
