today my G turned 4!! I honestly cannot believe that he has been with us this long.
One of the things my kids have been saying is "how can G be 4, he doesn't talk yet? ", or "why doesnt' G get himself dressed, I did that when I was 4".
What is the best way to explain his special needs to young siblings? I want to make sure I do it right, because they repeat every.thing. I .say. :)

Happy Birthday to G!

We have trouble with this, too. I'm not sure you can explain it. Some kids will understand and others will just need maturity. Just a couple of days ago, ds10 and I were talking and he asked how old he was when he started going to the bathroom. When I told him 3, he immediately wanted to know why Eli is 5 and still doesn't. Man, I would love to know that, too! He just doesn't 'get' it yet.

I tried to explain. Ds just stared at me for a minute and then asked, "Does this mean Eli is going to grow up and be one of those silent underwearless guys?"

  :roflol:

Wow. We've definitely got some more work to do. :D
