My daughter who is 5 has drug resistant epilepsy and just recently has been diagnosed with autism. Our doctor has recommend that we look into Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) therapy for her. Just checking to see if anyone has any personal experience.
Thank you!

I do not know much about VNS, but I wanted to ask if she was a candidate for the Ketogenic Diet for epilepsy? I have a friend who works at Children's hospital here in Birmingham and she adminters this diet as part of her job as a clinical nurse specialist. There are thousands of hospitals across the works and USA who also teach this diet and you might find one near you.

This website will give you info and help you find a hospital near you if you are interested.

I don't have personal experience with this, but a friend of mine had a son with severe epilepsy and this diet helped him very much!

Ladies-thank you for your replies. We have looked into the diet but my daughter has such digestive issues and food sensitivities that would not work with the diet. We have been through 5 different medications in three years and still struggle with the seizures. Our doctor feels the VNS will offer a better quality of life for her. We are taking our time right now and gathering information and praying.
