    Default It's that time of year-vol. 4 clues

    Here are the clues for Volume 4...I had a lot of fun writing these up!

    *This story takes place in the desert.
    *This story is about using your imagination.
    *Kids build a pretend town.
    Roxaboxen

    *This story takes place in Idaho.
    *A little girl really wants to see a relative.
    *She gets mailed so that she can visit her grandma.
    Mailing May

    *This book contains two stories.
    *A man takes advice from many people.
    *”I thought my words were perfect just the way they were.” Said the writer of the Declaration of Independence.
    The Hatmaker’s Sign

    *It’s a tall tale.
    *A man starts to look old because of a bird.
    *The man is bent over and happy because it makes him closer to his granddaughter.
    Gullywasher

    *The main character only did one thing in life.
    *The main character is a very serious man.
    *He tried to catch a fish with a sock.
    Higgins Bend

    *The main character complains at the beginning of the book.
    *He sees lots of animals.
    *He becomes a “river rat” just like his grandma.
    The Raft

    *The main character was born in Vermont.
    *He loved nature.
    *He loved snow more than anything else and found a way to share it with others.
    Snowflake Bentley

    *There is an island in the story.
    *A boy visits with his grandpa.
    *The lesson from this book, “People are more precious than things.”
    Arabella

    *The main character works with beeswax.
    *This story is set in the west.
    *The main character becomes a great artist.
    Cowboy Charlie

    *There is an island in the story.
    *The main character does a lot of traveling.
    *There are banana trees, cherry blossoms, hot springs, and poems in this story.
    Grass Sandals

    *This book has red things in it.
    *Do you like tomato juice?
    *Two birds (one is red!) and four little eggs make one man brave!
    Albert

    *The characters like hide and seek.
    *The main character has a disability.
    *She smelled like “lilacs with a whiff of bleach”.
    The Hickory Chair

    *This story takes place in some “Twin Cities”.
    *The setting of the story is WW II.
    *A city saves some animals.
    Hanna’s Cold Winter

    *This book is about a boy and his dog.
    *Clean boots and overalls are important!
    *Which gives you more energy-purple punch or plump pumpkins?
    The Pumpkin Runner

    *This book is about a man and some birds.
    *Some artists use paint; others use plaster.
    *This book is set in the capital of Italy.
